Timor-Leste’s 2nd Fragility Assessment (FA)
In 2015, CEPAD contributed to assess the impact and consequences from change and progress on the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States (New Deal) Peacebuilding and Statebuilding Goals (PSGs): 1-Inclusive Politics, 2-Security, 3-Justice, 4-Economic foundations, 5-Revenue and Services.
Bringing its participatory action research methodology to this g7+ initiative, CEPAD conducted a nationwide consultation facilitating interactive community dialogue sessions in each of Timor-Leste’s 13 municipalities.
As a contributing agency to the New Deal taskforce within the Timor-Leste Ministry of Finance (MOF), CEPAD helped understand impacts from legislative frameworks, policies and programs, and collect perspectives and experiences related to the above PSGs. CEPAD’s contribution culminated with a National Validation Workshop on its findings in September 2015.
Social Inclusion in Public Policy in Timor-Leste
In November 2014, together with UNESCO’s Jakarta Office, CEPAD conducted a research project on social inclusion in public policy in Timor-Leste. The project culminated with the validation of findings at a national forum in January 2015, having established a platform for future collaboration between the two organizations.
